1. Can a homeowner do his own wiring?

Yes. In an owner occupied home, the owner can do the wiring, provided that they apply for a wiring permit and demonstrate competency in the wiring they intend to do.

2. How do I schedule a wiring inspection?

If you have applied for and received a Wiring Permit you may submit a request for inspection via email to jrogers@oakbluffsma.gov.

3. When will the inspection take place?

The wiring inspector will schedule the inspection within three business days of the request. The Wiring Inspector will provide you a window of time in which the inspection will take place. i.e. 1:00 to 4:00 etc. please see our white paper on inspection policy.
